    • Sunday, July 27, 2025

    • 9:00 AM 11:30 AM

Join us for a morning meander through the trails at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary which is one of the Massachusetts Audubon Society’s largest wildlife sanctuaries, is located in Topsfield and Wenham, Massachusetts. Much of its 1,955-acre (7.91 km2) landscape was created by a glacier 15,000 years ago. The sanctuary features 12 miles (19 km) of interconnected trails wind through forests, meadows, and swamps, vernal pools, drumlins, and eskers. The Ipswich River runs for 8 miles (13 km) through the sanctuary.

This is birdwatcher’s paradise! We will intersperse our walk with mindful practices.

As this is a Massachusetts Audubon Center there is a $6 admission fee for non-members payable on site.

  • Cycles of Life Walk: March

This Cycles of Life Series will meet monthly, Sunday mornings, at the Broadmoor Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, Ma.

Walking the same land and practicing in familiar sit spots offers the opportunity to become intimately attuned to how a particular environment changes with the cycles of seasons. We will experience the shifts in light and shadow, the migration of birds and the life spans of insects, plant life. We may be curious to notice the responsiveness of our own inner landscape to that through which we traverse and rest.

Each month we will begin our walk at the Sanctuary Center and follow the path along the pond, continue through forest, meadow and even riverside. Though the intention to follow the sam route monthly, we will adapt according to the wetaher and conditions of the trails.Description text goes here

  • THREE THURSDAYS @ THE MFA

For each of three Thursday evenings this February we will visit an MFA special exhibit that, at a time when so many things seem uncertain, uncontrollable and even unreal, offer us historical perspective through images that illustrate the dialectical nature of life and offer us the possibility of transforming unimaginable hardship into expressions of love, liberation, and beauty.

Together, we’ll settle into mindful practices that support the holding of grief and joy, struggle and triumph, as equal parts of the whole. This is an invitation to reconnect with interdependence and belonging, and to celebrate the power of community and art to uplift and unite us all. Each week these gatherings will include both sitting and walking practices.

Power of the People: Art & Democracy

    Thursday February 6, 2025

“This exhibit highlights the ways in which art has expressed ideas about democracy throughout history and how artists have asked citizens to contemplate democracy’s promise, participate in its practice and call for improvements.”
